IdentLive Resets Its Newsroom Rules Around Original Reporting
IdentLive is moving away from source-digest publishing and setting a stricter rule: sources are for facts, but articles must be written in IdentLive’s own structure and voice.
IdentLive is resetting its newsroom rules around original reporting.
The site will no longer rely on automated source-digest articles that simply summarise what other publishers are reporting. That approach can fill a homepage, but it does not build a real publication.
IdentLive is being built to publish its own work: official Ident ecosystem updates, contributor reporting, platform news, business and esports coverage, product launches, investigations, interviews, explainers and original analysis.
Sources still matter. They matter more, not less. But sources are for facts, verification and attribution. They are not a replacement for original writing.
The new rule
IdentLive writers must not copy another outlet’s wording, paragraph order, sentence rhythm or article structure.
A writer can read sources, understand the story and use those sources to verify facts. The article itself must then be rebuilt in IdentLive’s own structure.
That means asking:
- what happened?
- who confirmed it?
- what is still unclear?
- why does it matter?
- what should readers watch next?
- what is IdentLive adding?
If an article cannot answer those questions, it probably is not ready.
Why this matters
A real news brand cannot grow by sounding like a weaker version of someone else.
Readers need trust. Search engines need quality signals. Contributors need standards. Partners need to know that IdentLive is not scraping the internet and dressing it up as journalism.
Original reporting does not always mean being first at the scene. It can mean original explanation, original context, original interviews, original community information or original analysis based on verified facts.
But it must be original.
Contributor access
New writers and researchers will start in review.
They must include sources, clearly label news versus opinion, separate confirmed facts from unclear claims and avoid using another publisher’s structure as a template.
The aim is simple: make IdentLive useful, trustworthy and worth reading.
Not louder. Better.
